The article is devoted to an important period in the life and work of Moscow artist Sergei Romanovich (1894–1968), one most interesting young artists Russian pictorial avant-garde second half 1910s, a student later friend Mikhail Larionov. From late 1930s mid-1950s, was employee Workshop Monumental Painting at Academy Architecture USSR. Together with Lev Bruni Vladimir Favorsky, he worked on decoration Red Army Theater, participated development projects interior design theater exhibition spaces, new public buildings other cities country. turned monumental art largely forced, unable seriously engage easel painting exhibit his 1930s. author analyzed main works performed by field art. Special attention paid Romanovich’s interest outstanding masters Renaissance modern times, which had certain influence works: among are Raphael, Michelangelo, Delacroix. also reveals connections mutual influences between Romanovich.
